American Forces Struck a 'Large Facility' in the Venezuelan nation, President Trump Asserted Without Offering Specifics.

Former President Trump has stated that US forces targeted a "major facility" in Venezuela recently. But, the ex-leader withheld information about the exact purpose or site of the strike, and there has been no further comment from his camp.

Unspecific Remarks Offered During a Radio Show

"US forces just knocked out – I don't know if you read – they have a large facility, where the vessels originate. Two nights ago, we took it out. So we struck them very hard," Trump allegedly told Republican donor and businessman John Catsimatidis on Friday.

Potential Significance of a Confirmed Strike

If a US strike is confirmed, it would represent the initial land strike since the Pentagon began a buildup of US strike forces in the region to disrupt narco-trafficking operations that the former administration claims operate under the direction of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

The initial purpose of the military buildup has since morphed into a quarantine aimed at disrupting the nation's oil exports.

Social Media Video and Official Claims

Trump has for some time warned that American military units are ready to escalate the operations by attacking targets inside Venezuela, a strategy that would in theory require congressional authorization.

A clip shared on social media on 24 December purportedly showed an detonation reportedly from an industrial zone in a Venezuelan state. However, the footage or the site in question has not been corroborated.

An official from Trump's team allegedly informed a news network that the president was describing a narco-trafficking site in his comments.

Response and Ongoing Strategic Posture

The Venezuelan government has remained silent on the incident Trump referenced. Additionally, there have been no independent reports from Venezuela about it.

The presence of US military in the region – a stance some have called a maritime "quarantine" – represents the most expansive naval operation of his time in office.

Sources have stopped short from labeling the action as a full blockade, but have acknowledged that about 15,000 service members are deployed across the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico, including a aircraft carrier group, advanced fighter jets, and Coast Guard cutters to implement current sanctions.
